OUR BULLS...

Raising bulls from birth to maturity is something that I find fascinating. To watch them develop, change and mature is interesting. Each bull from youth to adulthood goes through many changes over the course of weeks and months, culminating in a beautiful, strong and personable herd sire. We manage 6 - 10 intact bulls of varying ages year round.

We select only the best of those bulls to retain or sell to other farms to continue certain genetics, the remainder are steered and go to freezer camp. If you are in need of a "top shelf" bull for your herd with proven pedigrees, give us a call to see if we have a good fit available for your needs. All of our bulls are hand raised to be gentle and respectful. We have never had the need to put a ring into our bulls noses...they are gentle and compliant without such treatment. We breed for polled genetics, gentle temperaments, superb pedigrees and avoid certain lineages on our farm that we know to be aggressive or that tend to consistently produce over-sized at maturity offspring.

CHOOSE YOUR BULLS OR HERD SIRES CAREFULLY FOR SUCCESS.

We do not sell rank bulls. If our bulls do not have the temperament that we look to keep long term on our own farm, they will be steered for freezer camp, regardless of how much they could sell for or their beta casein results. A bull that is dangerous at his home farm (if handled and raised right), will be dangerous on any farm.

Our goal is to raise compliant, well behaved, healthy and actual miniature AT MATURITY bulls for other homesteads for breeding purposes. Just because a bull has "the parts" to create new life, does not in any way mean that he SHOULD produce young! Today, many bulls are sold for the money only, with total disregard as to what that bull might produce in offspring, how he may behave around humans, or develop in the future.

While other breeders collect bulls multiple times for sales, it is our policy to collect a bull only once during his lifetime....what we get, is what we get. It is our opinion, that repeated collections with the same bull saturates the market with those genetics and many times will change the temperament of the bull long term, by the processes used for the collection. We never allow the "probe" to be used on our bulls...ever.

WHITE STAR FARM PETER PIPER
photo taken: 09.10.2025

WSF Peter Piper is the apex of our breeding bull program. It is his profile and pedigree that sets the standard of excellence for our farm. His historical pedigree, mature size, temperament, flashy tri-coloring and gentle spirit, makes the perfect package. We are using him currently as our herd sire. He has settled select cows again, for the 2025 season.

We had a healthy mix of male to females this year from this bull...all were in the mini size range at birth except two and those two were steered. Semen is available from this bull on the SEMEN SALES page.

There is just nothing at all we do not like about this bull!

We are so pleased to have a beautiful bull out of one of our little 3/4 % MJ mama cow, WSF Thief. Thief has a 50% dam of purebred Tarentaise...a French breed of dairy cow and a purebred MJ sire. Cisco has turned out to be one of the smallest bulls on our farm at one year of age. Unless he grows some, he is very small!

He was born at 20" tall and beautifully painted. We will keep him for future consideration for breeding. DNA confirmed his sire to be WSF Monterey Jack.. More details to follow. Cisco has been put into service in this 2025 year. We can't wait to see what he produces with our beauties!

WHITE STAR FARM RENEGADE RED

PHOTO TAKEN: 09.10.2025

This little guy is a new bull born here at the farm. He is out of WSF Peter Piper and BH Winnie. He will be retained for a while to watch him grow. He is on target to remain a miniature in his growth. He has zero paint, although he is out of Pete....which surprises me. :-)

Winnie has actual Isle of Jersey genetics in her lineage so this bull should bring some real nice qualities to the table, in his offspring...time will tell.

REGISTERED NAME: White Star Farm Renegade Red

SIRE: WSF Peter Piper (confirmed)

WHITE STAR FARM DEACON

photo taken: 09.10.2025

WSF Deacon is out of one of our very best cows and our bull, WSF Peter Piper, who is the apex of our breeding bull program. Deacon appears to be going to remain a miniature throughout his life, if my prediction is right. My observations of these bulls over the last 18 years has taught me how to "read" their growth patterns.

Deacon was hand raised by us and is a super sweet and gentle little bull. He will be retained for a long time to breed here and see what he brings to the table in his offspring. He certainly has all the qualities that I search for in bulls to use as herd sires. Quality bulls like this are really hard to find.

WHITE STAR FARM L:UKE

photo taken: 09.10.2025

Tia Maria surprised us with a late delivery about two weeks ago. We have named him "Luke". Luke still has a coat that looks like a "buffalo" to me...lol

Luke has turned very dark coated, but may still throw fane or black coated offspring. We are ok with any color as long as they are healthy. We will hold on to him for a while and watch him develop. THANK YOU, Lord for another easy delivery!

Registered Name: WHITE STAR FARM LUKE

Date of Birth: 07 Sept 2024
Sire: MHF Cassidy (confirmed)

Dam: WSF Tia Maria

WSF BENJI

PHOTO TAKEN: 04.29.2025

Wow! Our boy Peter Piper really puts his mark on his offspring! Most all of his lineage has paint genetics and it comes through very strong in his offspring,

Benji was located in the field by our youngest son, Benjamin Cody, who passed away on Christmas Day 2024, so we named this bull in honor of him. :-)

Benji will be retained here for a future herd sire if he develops the way I think he will. He is a most excellent example of our breed. He is bring bottle raised by hand by us as all of our young are, to make them very adapable to humans and the homestead farm life. Please check back to see this bull as he matures. We should have named him "Exclamation!" by his white star design! lol

REGISTERED NAME: WSF Benji
REGISTRATION #: MJHB2035

DATE OF BIRTH: 02 Dec 2024
SIRE: WSF Peter Piper (confirmed)
DAM: WSF Firefly
HEIGHT: 22.5" @ Birth
HORNS: Homozygous Polled

Our Collected Mature Bulls...

These mature bulls are currently used either for live coverage here at our farm and/or have been collected. This page is for further information on each bull. If you are interested in semen on any of these bulls, please use our Semen Sales Page.

BARNYARD MINI DOCTOR SMURF

photo taken: undated Doc is 8 yrs old and 39" tall

Long ago, we met Nathan and Sherry Harris at their home in the mountains of Virginia. They sold us their last two cows...BM Ellie Mae and BM Doctor Smurf, then they retired. Miss Ellie and Doc have since passed away, but Doc was collected for future calves. These lines pass on the best temperament when paired with our cows and we will always keep these genetics here at White Star Farm.

Barnyard Mini Doctor Smurf is my baby of all my bulls, he is a1a1 beta casein, homozygous polled and superbly painted all over. His fertility rate was 98.4%, so he was collected only one time by us and lived his life out here at our farm.

Semen is available on this bull on our Semen Page

MHF TOMMY HAWK

photo taken: undated 2.5 yrs old and 40" tall

MHF Tommy Hawk was bred and born to a good friend of ours, here in Georgia. When offered the chance to own this bull, I jumped at the chance!

MHF Tommy Hawk is still alive and well, in California, and still breeding cattle. He has a sweet and gentle disposition making it very easy to handle him. Tommy Hawk is a2a2 and dehorned. He is the sire of several of our best cows still today...WSF Tia Maria is one of his offspring. He has remained under 42" at maturity.

MHF Tommy Hawk was collected one time by us and we have units available on our Semen Page.

HESTER'S RUDA

photo taken: undated 43" tall at 6 yrs of age

When we visited Annette Hester's in Indiana years ago, she had sold all her mini Jerseys, with the exception of this bull. He was purchased by us and brought back to Georgia to live his days here.

The day we got him home, he checked out the pasture and the mates there, then settled in. To date, this is by far one of the best bulls we've ever purchased. Hester's Ruda is now deceased but his genetics will live on in the semen that we have collected. This bull put superior paint on his offspring and even though he matured a bit taller at 43" @ 6.5 years, we love what he puts on the ground for us here! Ruda was a1a2 beta casein and heterozygous polled. Ruda is the grandsire of our WSF Peter Piper on his sire's side.

Semen is offered on our Semen Page for those wanting to maintain the historical genes and beauty of the past for this breed.

WHITE STAR FARM BUGSY

photo taken: undated 41" tall @ 4.5 years

White Star Farm Bugsy is out of one of the oldest lineages in this breed. He comes out of the Meadow Beauty lines, from Florida. At one time, we had 5 generations of his pedigree alive on our farm. He is such a good looking, well conformed and behaved bull, we had him CSS collected for export.

WSF Bugsy is a1a2 beta casein and homo polled. His dam is Meadow Beauty Ginger (38" @ 11 years) and his sire is Butter Cream Corner Tazer (41" @ 4 yrs) While Bugsy lived here, he never once gave us a bull calf....a nice heifer bull, he was!
